chi 2025
Back from an incredible week in Yokohama, where I attended the ACM CHI Conference.
During the conference, I had the pleasure of co-organising a workshop on Maternal Machines, led by Paulina Yurman. Together with Madeline Balaam, Caroline Y. Zheng, Yoav Luft, Matt Malpass, and Céline Mougenot (PhD), we explored non-numerical forms of knowledge and touch within the space of perinatal care.
I also had a proud supervisor moment watching Anne Arzberger presenting the TOCHI article based on her master's thesis that we co-authored with Elisa Giaccardi, on Reflexive Data Curation.
And last, I was really excited to see my amazing colleague Nazli Cila presenting our paper on Dramatic Things, co-authored also with Luciano Cavalcante Siebert and Janna van Grunsven. This is about a very dear work to me, which I often use in my talks. And we got an honourable mention award for it. Yay!
As every year, the conference was truly inspiring, but it was also and foremost an opportunity for connection, bonding and joy. I had countless meetings with lovely new and old colleagues. I’m already looking forward to the next edition, CHI2026, in Barcelona, where I will also be involved in the organising committee.
